~New wines at 15c~

bubbles |
Torreoria brut cava NV $10

If you spend much time at 15c, then you know our affinity for bubbles. With that in mind, we are very excited to bring you the new Torreoria non vintage cava.  It is bottle fermented and aged on the lees, the same process used for French Champagne. The tiny bubbles last forever in your glass and the rich creamy texture tastes like a wine valued at ten times the price.  Drink it alone or make a cava cocktail by adding some summer fruit and juice!

white |
Domaine des Lauriers Picpoul de Pinet 2009 $14
Picpoul is a white grape found in the South of France and is considered to be one of the lesser known Rhone varieties. Literally translating to “lip stinger,” the Picpoul Blanc grape produces wines in France that are known for their bright acidity, minerality and clean lemony flavor.

Liquid Farm Chardonnay 2009
(Golden Slope $45 & White Hill $38)
Liquid Farm Chardonnay is a new, extremely small production Chardonnay from the Santa Rita Hills. Only 48 cases were produced of each label, and 15c is the exclusive retailer.  If you are a white Burgundy fan who appreciates acidity, minerality and balance in your Chardonnay, but wants to support local wine producers, you should try these.  The wines are the vision of Jeff Nelson whose experience in selling and drinking French wines has afforded him the ability to create California wines bearing a strong resemblance to their international counterparts.  With the help of his fiancé and our friend Nikki Pallesen, you will be sure to see these in the press some day. Be sure to come try them now as they are sure to run out.

rosé |
Domaine Pallieres Gigondas Rose 2010 $24
Domaine Les Pallières is undeniably one of the greatest, longest-running properties of Southern Rhône. Gigondas is the northernmost town of Southern Rhone and is known for its Grenache.  This light and delicate rosé is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Clairette.

red| old world vs. new world
Bouchard Reserve Bourgogne Rouge 2009 $18
A price point under $20 for red burgundy!  Bouchard is one of the largest landowners in Burgundy, allowing them to secure some of the best prices without having to negotiate prices with growers every year.  The reserve Bourgogne is 100% Pinot Noir and has fruity and musky aromas with just the right touch of oak. Structured and firm, this wine has a pronounced personality. Full-bodied in its youth, it softens with age.

Espelt Old Vine Garnacha 2009 $15
Old vine in Spain really does mean old vine! The property is located in the Northeast of Spain close to the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees mountains.  It houses extremely old vineyards that are planted amidst National Parks in slate and granite soils. The road to the famed restaurant, El Bulli runs through the Espelt vineyards.  This garnacha is big and full of fruit with a nice sweet spice and hint of creamy oak.
